Self-destructive Ego

In his first solo exhibition, Bayo depicts the inner debate between the ego and the altruistic self, ultimately questioning if the quest for individuality becomes a delusional existence. Bayo's collection of drawings and acrylics portray a series of characters immersed in this battle, often pitting what seems positive against the destructive. From the birdman who is alienated from the world pretending to be a bird, the bureaucratic tiger who has no sense of fear, to the conflicted schizophrenic whose ego has been multiplied -- these disheartened figures give us a glimpse into minds deviated from the statutes of reason.

My Uzi Weighs a Ton
Wednesday, 01 September 2010 00:00

Very few objects can inspire feelings of excitement, adoration, fear, fantasy and conflict like a gun. “MY UZI WEIGHS A TON” is a traveling multimedia art exhibition exploring the effect and fascination of firearms in popular culture. The exhibition will feature the works of local and nationally recognized artists whose styles vary as much as their approach to this topic. This art event will be a showcase aimed to excite, entertain, educate and engage the viewer.
